The best way to succeed at an MTE show is through preparation – planning makes all the difference in how visible your brand is and the impact it has. While setting clear objectives for the day is crucial, so are these points:

Get there early
Arrive at 07:00 to allow time to complete registration, set up displays and address any last-minute requirements. Keep in mind that free-standing spaces are allocated on a first-come basis. The team is always there to assist and answer any questions exhibitors may have.
Operational readiness
Confirm the booking of your table and chair beforehand. Electricity is available at all the MTE shows, and if you have a special requirement, this will have to be communicated beforehand.
Food and refreshments will be on sale on site. It is important to have cash on hand – although some caterers do have card machines, on occasion, only cash is accepted.
Engagement plan
Ensure that the person manning the stand is well-informed about the product or service and can hold meaningful conversations. Attract customers to your stand by creating activities and demonstrations. Remember that the ‘Customer is always right’, so make sure your stand says things the mines need to hear, not things you like to say.
Don’t leave too early, as senior miners often arrive late in the day due to their busy schedule. Packing up early risks missing key conversations.
Being administratively sharp is also key! Don’t underestimate this part of planning. Above all, communicate. The MTE team is present throughout the exhibition and available to assist when issues arise.
