Since the beginning of this year, Andrew Macnamara, director of MTE Exhibitions, has been engaging with mining operations across the country to make sure that the restart of the MTE season runs as smoothly as possible, while Covid-19 remains in our midst. Apart from making sure that all Covid-19 regulations are adhered to during the MTE shows, Andrew determines the procurement needs of all the mines he talks too. He then informs and advises the appropriate suppliers and service providers on the MTE list, who are, in turn, offered exhibition space and an opportunity to meet face-to-face with visitors to the exhibition, which includes management and high-level decision makers.
The MTE shows are rapid, high-impact events that should not be missed, whether you are an exhibitor or a visitor. In the absence of large mega-exhibitions that cannot be held due to Covid-19 restrictions, the MTE concept has become extremely popular as both suppliers and mining operations have been starved of face-to-face contact under lockdowns and travel restrictions.
Just how popular the MTE exhibitions have become shows in the overwhelming interest from mining companies to host these shows and the high numbers of suppliers eager to book stands. Despite all the challenges 2021 brought with it, the first MTE exhibition of the year, scheduled for 21 April, has been sold out! Because of Covid-19 regulations, MTE, as an outdoor event, is limited to 250 people and therefore 60 stands. However, the show attracts high quality visitors and suppliers, and if you are in the Emalahleni and Middelburg area from 13:00 to 17:00 on the 21st of April 2021, make sure you head to the Portuguese Club at 95 Nita Avenue, Zeekoewater 311-Js, Emalahleni.
