In July, MTE broke its own 30-year combo show record in the Northern Cape with the Beeshoek, Hotazel and Kathu expo trilogy success.

“What a week!” said Andrew Macnamara, operations director at MTE, referring to the third week in July 2023. “For the first time in thirty years we ran three back-to-back, high impact expos – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Beeshoek, Hotazel and Kathu respectively, without the customary day’s break in-between the shows.

“A total of just under 300 suppliers exhibited their tech innovations throughout the week. Beeshoek saw 250 visitors; Hotazel 310 and Kathu, just under 500 – respectively. That’s over 1 000 targeted decision makers registering in three days.” He emphasised that visitors ranged from general managers to engineering managers, mining managers to procurement managers, supervisors to artisans and ‘hands-on’ end users – all eager to engage and share their challenges with the experts on hand, demo-ing the latest mining tech.

The MTE combo shows prove to be particularly cost effective for suppliers as they target areas located a great distance from the Johannesburg hub where many supplier headquarters are stationed. These combo shows give suppliers an opportunity to see decision makers across a large number of the largest operations in the region in a matter of three action-packed days.

Do not forget that the Zambia trilogy will take place in September, following the traditional model of three expos with a day in-between to travel the distances there – so make sure you book your spot as this popular tour draws near.
