Meet the Team
The MTE team is comprised of dedicated professionals who are all passionate about what they do and can assist with anything you need regarding our shows, so we thought we’d start the year off by introducing ourselves as well as the various responsibilities of each team member.
Andrew Macnamara, operations director at MTE, who first joined the team in 2008, officially took over as operations director in 2010 and has helmed the operation to great success ever since. Not only does Andrew provide leadership to the team, he also travels extensively to meet with mine management beforehand to discover the needs of their operations in addition to vetting any potential exhibition venues. Trust Dube, supervisor, driver and stand builder is the strong backbone of the team and has been with the company since 2011. Trust is responsible for making sure that our tents are set up before each show in addition to managing the casuals we hire from each area as well as setting up signage.

Artwell Tshwene is our other driver and stand builder, whose silent but dependable presence is integral to making our shows go ahead safely and on schedule. In conjunction with Trust, he does a lot of travelling and also maintains our two 24-ton trucks – affectionately known as Timon and Pumba.

Caryn Kitching, mine liaison and exhibitions co-ordinator, is responsible for the planning of each show which takes place as well as meeting the needs of each client by liaising between our suppliers and the mines and helping to coordinate the considerable logistics involved. Gillian Jeffery, marketing and communications assistant, handles the marketing aspect of MTE by sending out communications and ensuring that we get as many visitors as possible at each show. David Smith, sub-editor and content writer, is a relatively new addition to the team and he is in charge of proofreading all publications before they get sent out as well as putting together material for our newsletters and daily news posts.
