MTE is making its next stop in Ngodwana, Mpumalanga, for its Paper & Pulp expo. Many people equate MTE with mining, however the travelling expo organiser also has a large following in other industries. The exhibition will be taking place on 7 August at Ngodwana Training Centre and gates will be open from 12pm to 4pm.

Later in the month, MTE travels to Zimbabwe with a stop in Ngezi on 19 August and another in Gweru on 21 August, rounding off its two-combo tour.
Zimplats mine, located in Ngezi, has a history that goes back to 1986 when Delta Gold Limited got the rights to platinum in the area. Zimplats has been taking the mine to the next level since the 2010s. It has five underground mines and the Selous Metallurgical Complex (SMC), comprising a concentrator and smelter, is located 77 kilometres north of the underground operations.
The Ndebele people named Gweru. The name means ‘the steep place’, referring to the steep banks of Gweru River. In addition to the opportunities brought by Unki mine, Gweru has smaller platinum and chrome mines and even several small gold mines. ZimAlloys has three smelting furnaces at its Gweru smelting complex.
It is a bustling trade centre. Currently there is quite a bit of construction work going on in the town, creating some expansion and growth in the area. This could possibly create even further construction and infrastructure opportunities in the future.
