MTE aims to ensure that every exhibitor has a safe and successful show. Therefore, we have provided several safety and security requirements for your attention.

MTEs Guideline on Health and Safety

MTEs Guideline on Health and Safety

Please note that, if any of the following requirements are violated or not adhered to by an exhibitor, that exhibitor could be asked to leave by mine security or MTE’s operations manager. We adopt the same ZERO TOLERANCE for unsafe practices as the mines do.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• No unprotected equipment, which can cause fire or injury to individuals, groups or the environment, should be displayed.
• All equipment displayed must be insured by the exhibitor.
• Do not stand under loads suspended from cranes or forklifts.
• Do not work with heavy or mobile equipment and machinery without the correct personal protective equipment.
• All displays must be firmly fixed.
• Only Prestik and double-sided tape (not industrial) may be used on the white boards. Any damage to the boards will be charged to your company’s account.

• Please note that MTE is not responsible for any lost or damaged equipment.
• Please take note of the safety signs at the venue and adhere to them.
• All demonstrations must be done with the necessary protection and PPE, and with the approval of MTE’s operations manager.
• A first aid kit is available from the organisers, but each exhibitor should have their own first aid kit to handle smaller injuries. The MTE staff is trained in administering first aid, but it is up to the individual to keep themselves and those around them safe.
• In the event of an emergency, please leave your stand and move to the emergency points, which will be announced by MTE organisers. Lives are more important than equipment.
• Please keep your belongings safe.
• Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and licenced. The mine reserves the right to deny entry to any vehicle or individual.
• No vehicles may be parked in front of the exhibits, or where they will impede the entrance or exit during the hours of the exhibition. If the MTE staff requests that you move your vehicle, please do so immediately.
• No alcohol or drugs are permitted on mine property. MTE accepts no responsibility if the club or venue enforces club or legislative rules regarding alcohol on their premises.
