With the increasing emphasis on diesel emission reduction and workplace safety, HJS South Africa supplies solutions tailored to meet the challenges of today’s industries. From Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) systems to catalytic converters, the company is set to become a trusted partner for businesses striving for compliance with exhaust emission standards, health and safety regulations and sustainability – lowering the impact of emissions on workers’ health.
“Our launch underscores our commitment to delivering cutting-edge technologies that address health, environmental and operational challenges,” said André Robberts, MD of HJS South Africa. “We were honoured to have global leaders and industry pioneers joining us to mark this milestone and advance the conversation around clean air, especially in the mining sector.”
The event featured notable industry experts and leaders, including:
- Robin Trompetter, CEO and Dirk Maiworm, sales director of HJS Emission Technology Germany. Both executives offered insights into HJS’s global mission to drive sustainable innovation in emission technology.
- Dr Amu Modau, Operations SHERQ manager, ARM Platinum and Coal, delivered a keynote address where she shared key findings from her research on “Characterisation of Emission and Exposure to Diesel Engine Exhaust from Trackless Mobile Machinery in Underground South African Platinum Mines: Evaluating Strategies to Prevent and Control Exposure”. Dr Modau highlighted the importance of effective diesel particulate filtration for mine workers’ safety in underground mines, emphasising the crucial role of diesel engine maintenance on machinery and the addition of HJS Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) in mitigating Diesel Particulate Matter exposure levels and risks.
- Constance Kekana, director of Occupational Hygiene at the Department of Mineral Resources South Africa (DMR), closed off the official talk by providing an insightful legislative update on regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements relating to emission exposure in mining environments.
The launch represented a significant step in aligning local industries with global standards for emission control and operational safety. By introducing proven solutions engineered for compliance and sustainability, HJS South Africa is set to become a leader in emission technology for industries that power the country’s economy.
“This was more than a business launch; it was an opportunity to create meaningful change in industries where safety and efficacy go hand in hand,” said Robberts.
