AM: Welcome Cathy! When did you join the MTE Team, and what is your function at the company?
CL: I have worked in the MTE sales team for over a decade now.
AM: What do you enjoy most about working at MTE?
CL: I love to witness the success of an exhibition – from both the exhibitors’ and visitors’ points of view. It is very exciting to see the results of us introducing suppliers with new innovations and technologies to the mines, which then helps to solve mining industry challenges.
AM: What is the most challenging part of your job at the company?
CL: Coping with unforeseen circumstances at exhibitions such as weather changes, and sometimes a show date change. A lot of organisation behind the scenes is required to manage these instances.
AM: Tell us a little about yourself – what drives you, what are your hobbies and what do you look forward to at the end of a working day?
CL: I like to challenge myself daily – not to be the person I was yesterday, but to better myself in all areas of my life. After a hard day’s work I can’t wait to see my husband and our 2 lovely girls and Baily, our staffi, who helps me clear my mind with regular walks.
AM: What message would you like to leave our exhibitors with?
CL: Opportunities don’t just happen, you create them, and you make them happen.
