As promised, MTE delivered a stunning pair of exhibitions in the North West province last month in April, with outstanding attendance levels at both events.

The Mooinooi Mining & Industrial Exhibition 2023 kicked off the festivities on 18 April at the Mooinooi Golf Club. Exhibitors were set up well in advance, with a total of 58 stands erected and festooned with the latest advances and innovations available to the PGMs industry. The visitors began arriving at 13h00, with 195 people coming down to see what ‘mooi’ offerings were available. The weather was sunny and the atmosphere was positive as the expo got into full swing, with representatives coming through from Sibanye Stillwater Marikana Division, Tharisa Minerals and smaller mining operations as well. Some of the visitors to the show included process supervisors, safety officers, directors, sales engineers, projects managers, plant administrators, sales representatives, depot managers, operations managers and technicians.

Rustenburg Mining & Industrial Exhibition 2023 was quite simply the biggest event MTE has ever run, with the turnout on the day completely exceeding our already high expectations. The team organised a whopping 134 exhibitors, who all made sure to bring along their absolute best with demos and other exciting things happening on the stands. Weather for the day was perfect, with plenty of sunshine and blue skies hinting at the day’s pleasant mood. The rows of stands made for an impressive display with an assortment of colourful banners, people watching demonstrations with keen interest and the excited buzz of networking. The visitors did not disappoint either, with a final total of 508 people who came through. Overall, a fantastic vibe with a constant flow of high-quality visitors from Sibanye Stillwater’s Rustenburg and Kroondal operations, Impala Platinum, Glencore and smaller mining operations in the area. Some of the high-quality visitors included project managers, directors, sales representatives, sales coordinators, technical specialists, safety officers, boilermakers, mine managers, senior maintenance planners, electrical service managers, mine overseers, shift supervisors, suppliers, artisans and many others.

A massive amount of effort went into making these shows so successful, from marketing on the ground to meticulous strategic planning to bring the plan together and manage all the logistics involved, ensuring that things would flow as smoothly as possible. Even with an unreliable power supply MTE kept the expo powered with generators, in addition to anticipating and planning around other potential obstacles. All this planning and organisation culminated in a fantastic pair of exhibitions – with an exceptional turnout and with an overwhelmingly positive response from suppliers. All in all, a week to remember for MTE.
