The 12th of May marked the introduction of our first ever Plumbing Travelling Exhibition (PTE), which took place in sunny Mbombela/Nelspruit, with the event hosted by Lowveld High School. This new offering from Interact Media Defined is an expansion of our highly successful Plumbdrain expo but rather than a static event, the PTE utilises the same travelling exhibition concept as our popular Mining Travelling Expo (MTE) by taking the expo right to the “heart of the area”. This allows our visitors to get a feel for the latest products and water related technology by providing suppliers with a platform outside of their usual spheres in areas they might not normally reach.
For the Mbombela event we are pleased to report that the first PTE was a wonderful success with plenty of positive feedback from our exhibitors and some helpful suggestions based on lessons learnt from the experience. In total we received just over 145 quality visitors consisting of owners of plumbing companies, plumbers, building inspectors, water engineers, facility managers and maintenance managers. They came mostly from the city but there were some from White River, Malalane and other outlying areas.
Not bad for the first outdoor plumbing event, with plenty of contacts established among the visitors and our exhibitors – a sure sign of good things to come! The first 100 visitors to the expo each enjoyed a boerewors roll and a cooldrink sponsored by Plumblink and we were fortunate enough to have pleasant weather for most of the day. In addition to the demonstrations of new products by exhibitors, three workshops were run throughout the day by IOPSA and these were enthusiastically attended by interested plumbers wanting to expand their skillsets.
We look forward to the next PTE expo happening in Rustenburg on 25 August and we hope to see you there!
