Situated about 20km west of Kriel in Mpumalanga, South Africa, the Matla mining complex comprises three mines producing 14Mtpa of power station coal with a workforce of over 2 500. It is a fully mechanised underground mine employing continuous mining and short-wall methods.

Matla, which means ‘strength’ in Sesotho, has coal reserves amounting to 297.3 million tonnes (Mt) of coking coal, making it one of the largest coal reserves in Africa and the world. The mine produces around 14Mt of coal a year, with the output going directly to the Matla Power Station.

Exhibitors should include any company that supplies equipment or products to the coal mines, or that supply equipment or products that can be used in the coal mining process. In Witbank, it’s all about coal. So, if you’re involved in that business, then this expo is the place to be.
